Some important files and their locations on CentOS

I’m comprising a list of some common file locations on the system (CentOS 5+):

CentOS fresh installation and using yum install {package}


/etc/profile
user profile script location
the default script which runs once a user is logged in to shell via SSH

/home/user/.bash_profile
user profile script location
the second script which runs once user is logged in to shell via SSH

/etc/hosts
the hosts file location ( DNS )

/var/log/httpd/error_log
Apache error log file location

/etc/httpd/conf/httpd.conf
Apache main configuration file location

/etc/php.ini
Default PHP configuration file location

CPanel supported
